Privacy policy

Last updated 20 October 2026

Brainlings is made for children, so we keep as little information as we can. This policy explains what we keep and why. The owner of Brainlings is responsible for this data.

What we keep

  • The parent’s email address, so you can sign in.
  • If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address on our mailing list.
  • For each child: a nickname and a class group, never a real name.
  • Stars, streaks and league points, so progress is saved.
  • Membership and payment records: the plan, amount, dates and Razorpay order and payment numbers.

What we never collect

  • Children’s real names, schools, photos, birthdays or locations.
  • Anything typed on a certificate. The name, class and school on a certificate stay in your browser and are never sent to us or saved.
  • Card, UPI or bank details. Razorpay handles payments and we never see them.

No ads, no trackers

Brainlings has no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell or share your data for anyone else’s marketing.

Who else sees it

  • Supabase stores accounts and progress for us, on servers in Mumbai.
  • Razorpay processes payments, under its own privacy policy.
  • Hostinger sends our emails: sign-in links and, only if you turn it on, the weekly report.
  • MailerLite sends the newsletter, only to parents who sign up. It receives your email address and nothing about your children. You can unsubscribe from the link in every newsletter, or untick the box on the Grown-ups page.
  • Weekly league boards show other players a child’s nickname and points only, and only if a parent turns this on.

On this device

Progress and settings are also kept in your browser’s storage so the site works offline. Signing out clears them.

Your choices

You can delete a child’s profile and all their stars on the Grown-ups page at any time. To delete your whole account, email us and we will do it within 30 days. Payment records may be kept for as long as tax law requires.
